Overview Reporting to the Sr. Director of Plant Operations, the Director of Plant Operations (DOP) is charged with leading production in all market centers within the assigned territory. While the Regional Vice President (RVP) owns the results of the Region, in production matters, the DOP and the RVP jointly own the results. Decisions must be made collaboratively.

Responsibilities / Essential Functions

Build a team in each market center, from the Plant Manager down, capable of achieving the company’s defined targets.

Create, implement, and manage a succession plan for each market center. It is the DOP’s responsibility to have sufficient management talent available, either locally or within the region, to ensure that every plant can be operated at all times with talent from the DOP’s team.

Assist in plant labor negotiations, ensuring that the contractual “non‑negotiables” are adhered to.

Ensure that the company’s safety programs are adhered to at all times, with incident rates below company target.

Own VPEX implementation and sustainment.

Export production talent at every opportunity.

Achieve company targets for the following:

Pounds per operator hour (PPOH)

Maintaining production schedules

Plant cost budgets

Required maintenance

Shortages

Quality Standards

Staffing and overtime

Ensure that all attendance policies are rigidly enforced.

Complete additional duties as assigned or lead projects as assigned.

Ensure that all required maintenance is completed on time and in a professional manner.

Develop Supervisors capable of becoming Plant Managers in 12 months or less from hire date.

Maintain compliance with all Federal, State and Local Laws, including all Vestis Policies and Procedures.

Working Environment / Safety Requirements Position will be based in an office environment, but when in the plant environment there will be exposure to adverse temperatures which may include extreme hot or cold. Additionally, when in the plant environment physical activities such as lifting, reaching, bending, walking, sitting, standing, pushing and pulling will be required. Travel is required commensurate with the size and geography of the territory. Must have a valid driver’s license.

Experience / Qualifications Education

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience preferred.

Required Experience

5-7 years of Management experience, preferably in a Production environment.

Demonstrated positive results in productive labor standards and work measurements with strong customer service skills.

Considerable skill in management, negotiation, labor relations, and communication.

Knowledge of OSHA and safety regulations.

Demonstrated success interfacing with a variety of organizational functions to drive results.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Preferred Experience

Experience and/or exposure to Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and/or any process improvement program.

Bilingual – Spanish/English.

Previous P&L and/or budgeting experience.
