The Digital Modernization Sector is in search of a
Senior Cybersecurity Operations Manager
to enhance the DISA GSM-O II TN09 Network Assurance (NA) Program. This program provides critical network operations and cyber defense support to the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), the Department of Defense (DoD), and various Combatant Commands (CoCOMs).
The chosen candidate will take on the role of
Site Lead , providing strategic leadership for defensive cyber operations activities. This position demands proactive engagement with various stakeholders to anticipate their needs and deliver exceptional outcomes. The candidate will work collaboratively across multiple time zones with the TN09 Program Manager, Service Delivery Manager, other DISA monitoring center leads, and task order leadership worldwide.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure operational excellence and meet daily mission requirements.
Represent the organization in DISA Defensive Cyber Operations (DCO) working groups.
Provide effective leadership for the DISA Pacific Network Assurance team, including managing employee engagement, conducting training, performance reviews, and overseeing personnel management.
Lead teams responsible for:
Triaging and analyzing alerts from cybersecurity sensors.
Conducting network forensics to identify and mitigate malicious activities.
Reporting incident and situational awareness to DISA cybersecurity service subscribers.
Creating and updating signatures and custom alerting rules based on adversary activity and vulnerabilities.
Implementing active measures to prevent and contain cyber threats.
Act as the Senior GSM-O II Representative, liaising with local government personnel on administrative tasks for all contract staff.
Basic Qualifications
Must possess an active Top Secret security clearance.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience, with a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may substitute for a degree.
Certification in DoD-8570 IAT Level 2 (e.g., Security+ CE, CISSP, or equivalent), with the ability to achieve CSSP-A certification within 180 days of hiring.
Strong grasp of Cyber Network Defense (CND) principles, encompassing protection, detection, response, and sustainment.
Self‑motivated leader with outstanding written and verbal communication abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with DISA and DoD networking.
Advanced knowledge of TCP/IP, networking protocols, traffic flow, system administration, and defense‑in‑depth strategies.
Expertise in at least one enterprise SIEM platform (e.g., Elastic SIEM, ArcSight, Splunk, Sentinel).
Familiarity with malware analysis techniques.
Proven experience delivering briefings to Senior Executive Service (SES) and General Officer/Flag Officer (GO/FO) leadership.
Possession of advanced certifications including SANS GIAC/GCIA/GCIH, GLSC, or CASP.
Familiarity with intelligence‑driven defense strategies and the cyber kill chain methodology.
