MES Solution Architect (Manufacturing Execution) – North America
Cullerton Group has a new opportunity for an MES Solution Architect in Orland Park, IL. The work will be done onsite two days a week. The rest of the work will be work-from-home. For the first three months the work will be onsite 5 days a week. This is a permanent job. Compensation is $130K/yr + 10% bonus.

Role Summary Lead discovery, architecture, and delivery of end-to-end
MES
solutions for discrete manufacturing clients. You will own technical design, guide implementations, enable users, and partner with sales on scoping and win strategies. The goal: deploy our MES platform to improve throughput, quality, and cost.
What You’ll Do Discovery & Architecture
Run process-mapping workshops with production, quality, and maintenance SMEs.
Assess current systems (ERP/PLM/SCADA/IIoT) and define the MES functional/technical blueprint.
Document data models, integrations, and event/transaction flows; close “black-holes” in traceability.
Implementation & Integration
Configure, extend, and deploy MES modules (dispatching, genealogy, SPC, WIP/tracking, OEE).
Specify/guide development of customer-specific extensions (APIs, services, UI).
Troubleshoot complex issues across app, database, network, and plant floor layers.
Turn MES data into actions—create KPIs and reports; recommend changes that lift yield and reduce cycle time/scrap.
Apply Lean/6σ principles to stabilize processes and standardize work.
Enablement & Customer Success
Deliver admin/user training (remote and on-site); produce SOPs and runbooks.
Advise engineering and leadership on best practices, rollout plans, and governance.
Serve as the MES SME in pre-sales (discovery, demos, LOE/RFP inputs).
Mentor consultants; stay current on product roadmap and manufacturing standards.
Qualifications
5+ years
implementing
MES
or adjacent manufacturing systems (MOM/SCADA/IIoT/Quality).
Strong understanding of shop-floor processes, production logistics, and master data.
Practical IT base: networking, databases (SQL), remote access, Windows server.
Experience integrating with ERP/PLM/SCADA via
REST/JSON ;
C# /scripting a plus.
Demonstrated workshop facilitation, documentation, and stakeholder communication skills.
Comfortable leading multiple projects concurrently; highly reliable and self-directed.
Work authorization in the U.S.
and ability to travel up to 50%.
Spanish or German
language skills are a plus.
