About the Role
We are seeking a
DevOps Engineer
with strong development and operational expertise to join our front‑office technology team supporting trading and execution within one of the world's largest asset managers. This team operates at the intersection of software development and systems administration delivering day‑to‑day support while driving automation and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Build telemetry and observability solutions to enhance platform visibility
Analyze and mitigate incidents; lead blameless postmortems and implement solutions to prevent recurrence
Optimize workflows and reduce toil through automation and process improvements
Plan, lead, and optimize production software and infrastructure for capacity and resilience
Leverage AI and next‑generation toolsets to improve platform uptime and team efficiency
Collaborate closely with development, infrastructure, and vendor teams
Required Skills and Experience
2+ years
as a developer with a strong focus on operations
Proficiency in
Python
(preferred) or any major language (C#, Java, C++)
Experience with
DevOps practices , automation, and scripting
Strong troubleshooting skills in
Unix/Linux
and Windows environments
Hands‑on experience with
AWS ,
Kubernetes , and cloud technologies
Familiarity with
Datadog ,
GitHub , and SQL queries
Understanding of ITIL concepts (Incident, Problem, Change, Configuration Management)
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work in high‑pressure environments
Nice‑to‑Have
Experience supporting trading platforms or financial services environments
AI‑assisted development experience

Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Del Mar, CA.
Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $75.00 - $80.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment. Benefits are subject to change and may be subject to specific elections, plan, or program terms. If eligible, the benefits available for this temporary role may include the following:
