Executive Assistant to the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs The Talent Acquisition department brings qualified candidates to support the Senior Vice President for Student Affairs at Howard University. Key Responsibilities

Provide executive assistance—including management of schedules, travel, speaking engagement and other calendar logistics—for the Senior Vice President and the exec team.

Screen confidential, high‑profile and compliance‑related communications, triage and coordinate related actions and initiatives.

Implement and manage special projects, design procedures, coordinate divisional units and assign student workers as needed.

Conduct research, prepare executive summaries, presentations and reports on projected costs, resources and impact of initiatives.

Prepare and edit correspondence, presentations, publications and data compilation for reporting.

Assist with annual and mid‑year reporting and program evaluation.

Coordinate special events and follow‑up actions for the executive team.

Support development of initiatives that improve financial, administrative and service effectiveness in Student Affairs.

Maintain contacts with administrative staff and facilitate communication within the Office of the Senior Vice President.

Review proposals, memoranda and other communications, recommend action and draft essential documents for signature.

Perform related duties as assigned.

Core Competencies

Understanding of university structure and written policies and procedures.

Proficiency with word processing, database management, presentation software and spreadsheets.

Analytical data consolidation and manual development.

Excellent oral and written communication.

Strong relationships with faculty, staff, students and external partners.

Team support and flexibility (including nights, weekends, travel).

Minimum Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in business, administration or organizational development and 5‑7 years experience (or equivalent).

Master’s degree and experience in higher education, or senior‑level executive experience preferred.

12 years of related administrative experience may substitute for education.

Salary Range Expected Pay Range:

$54,545 – $70,000

Senior Level Mid‑Senior level
