Job Overview The Business Development Analyst will support new solar power, energy storage, and fleet electrification sales, as well as the management of existing accounts across the U.S. This role partners closely with Sales Managers to drive growth of client portfolios and project pipelines in both established and emerging markets.

The Analyst will track, analyze, and pursue new commercial opportunities, leveraging strong analytical and problem-solving skills to develop compelling value propositions for prospective clients and sound economic fundamentals for internal stakeholders. Working alongside a cross-functional sales team, this role will help influence key decision-makers and support strategic sales initiatives.

Location & Reporting This position is based in a California office with a hybrid work environment. The Business Development Analyst reports to a senior commercial leader focused on energy storage and works closely with Marketing, Engineering, Development, Finance, Legal, and Executive teams.

Key Responsibilities

Support Sales Managers with utility analysis and contract negotiations

Develop and manage inbound leads and the sales pipeline, including opportunity qualification

Analyze customer energy data and utility rates to evaluate savings propositions

Conduct energy storage and fleet electrification optimization analyses

Assess the economic viability of project proposals and recommend strategies to enhance revenue or reduce costs

Prepare financial analyses and reports, including budgets, forecasts, and portfolio status updates

Support internal and external presentations and proposals, including RFP responses and analytics

Assist with documentation and coordination related to customer contracts and utility applications

Perform due diligence to identify future business opportunities for new and existing clients

Collaborate cross-functionally to move projects forward efficiently

Monitor emerging regulatory developments and assess market implications

Identify opportunities to improve internal tools, processes, and systems

Qualifications

Strong interest in the renewable energy sector

Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s degree preferred

Excellent analytical and quantitative skills

Financial modeling experience preferred

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Ability to develop insights and articulate clear value propositions

Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, evolving environment

Highly organized and self‑motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Creative and critical thinker with strong problem‑solving capabilities

Advanced proficiency in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

Prior experience in solar or renewable energy is a plus
