Position Overview Our client is seeking a

Chief Growth Officer (CGO)

to serve as a key member of the executive leadership team. This role partners closely with the CEO and Board of Directors to drive organizational growth through diversified revenue strategies, external partnerships, and stakeholder engagement.

The CGO will lead comprehensive growth initiatives including fundraising, grants, sponsorships, capital campaigns, and strategic partnerships while overseeing a team responsible for revenue development and external relations.

This is a highly visible, board-facing role ideal for a strategic leader with a strong track record in revenue growth within nonprofit, association, education, or mission-driven environments.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with the CEO and executive team to shape and execute organizational growth and revenue strategy.

Lead annual and multi-year revenue plans to meet budget and sustainability goals.

Oversee diversified revenue streams including:

Annual giving

Major and planned gifts

Grants (foundation and government)

Corporate sponsorships and partnerships

Special events

Capital campaigns (as needed)

Serve as a senior external representative to donors, partners, and community stakeholders.

Manage prospect strategy including research, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.

Support and prepare staff, board members, and volunteers for donor and partner engagement.

Collaborate with Marketing/Communications on campaign messaging, materials, and public relations.

Oversee donor/CRM systems, reporting, forecasting, and performance tracking.

Lead, mentor, and evaluate paid staff and volunteers within the growth/development function.

Ensure best practices, compliance, and data integrity across all growth initiatives.

Present regular progress updates and recommendations to the CEO and Board.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience; advanced degree preferred.

7+ years of progressive leadership experience in growth, development, fundraising, advancement, or external relations.

5+ years of direct people management experience (paid staff and volunteers).

Demonstrated success partnering with a CEO and Board of Directors.

Proven experience leading complex revenue initiatives and campaigns.

Strong strategic, analytical, and relationship-building skills.

High level of professionalism, discretion, and integrity.

Technical Skills

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Experience with CRM or donor management platforms

Strong reporting and data analysis capabilities.
