Position Summary The Director of Operations provides strategic and operational leadership for the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology (ASCCP), ensuring efficient day-to-day operations, financial sustainability, and alignment with the organization’s mission. This role oversees administrative functions, supports medical education programs and events, manages staff and vendors, and ensures compliance with regulatory and governance requirements.

Key Responsibilities Organizational Operations

Oversee daily operations to ensure effective, efficient, and mission-aligned performance

Develop, implement, and improve operational policies, procedures, and systems

Ensure seamless coordination across departments, committees, and volunteers

Financial & Administrative Management

Manage operational budgets in collaboration with the CEO

Monitor financial performance, contracts, and expenditures

Oversee vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement

Support annual audits, tax filings, and financial reporting

Manage relationship with external IT company - contracts, invoices, and support tickets

Support the CEO with operational and administrative needs

Maintain organizational records, policies, and risk management practices

Provide operational oversight for continuing education programs, meetings, and events

Support membership services, renewals, and engagement initiatives

Staff & Human Resources

Supervise administrative and operational staff

Support hiring, onboarding/offboarding, performance management, and professional development

Coordinate with HR Manager on annual insurance renewals across all applicable lines

Ensure compliance with HR policies, labor laws, and organizational values

Strategic Planning & Improvement

Partner with CEO on strategic planning and organizational growth

Analyze operational metrics and recommend improvements

Support technology adoption and process modernization

Required

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, healthcare administration, nonprofit management, or related field

5–8 years of progressively responsible operations or management experience

Experience working in a nonprofit, healthcare, or professional membership organization

Strong financial, organizational, and project management skills

Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

East Coast residents only, preference given to applicants residing within 2 hours of Washington DC

Preferred

Experience with medical societies, associations, or continuing medical education (CME) programs

Knowledge of nonprofit governance and compliance

Familiarity with association management systems (AMS), CRM platforms, and event management tools

Worked full-time in a remote capacity

Knowledge/proficiency in Asana, Slack, Zoom

Work Environment

Remote with occasional travel for conferences and meetings
