Under this model, Huron provides comprehensive operational oversight and Revenue Cycle leadership, with managers and above employed by Huron. Revenue Cycle associates remain employees of Baystate Health, ensuring continuity and alignment with the health system’s culture. Key stakeholders—including market leaders and hospital, clinic, and physician leadership across Baystate’s network—play a critical role in driving operational success and sustaining performance improvements. This collaborative approach enables Baystate Health to leverage Huron’s expertise while maintaining strong engagement with its internal teams.
The Patient Accounts Director oversees all aspects of patient account management within Baystate Health’s Revenue Cycle operations. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate billing, timely collections, and compliance with regulatory requirements while driving process improvements and operational efficiency. The director collaborates closely with Huron leadership, Baystate Health stakeholders, and departmental teams to maintain high performance standards and deliver exceptional patient financial experiences. Strong leadership, strategic planning, and expertise in revenue cycle best practices are essential to succeed in this position.
The selected candidate must be able to work onsite at Baystate Health facilities on a periodic basis as determined by business needs. This includes attending key meetings, collaborating with leadership teams, and supporting operational initiatives that require in-person engagement. Flexibility to travel to designated locations within the health system is essential to ensure strong partnership and alignment with stakeholders.### **KEY JOB DUTIES:*** Guides and directs subordinate supervisors/managers on patient financial services team* Develops and implements policy and procedure recommendations to meet the needs of the Health and Hospital System and its patients;* As needed, participates in the preparation of the annual Health and Hospital System budget.* Prepares annual statement of goals and objectives in collaboration with subordinates to meet client expectations;* Ensures compliance with all Federal, State, local government, and private industry mandates;* Ensures staff are aware and compliant with all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines, etc.* Analyzes and identifies PFS service needs to determine appropriate action and make recommendations for problem resolution or procedural changes if appropriate;* Identifies issues, risks, barriers and opportunities for improvement related to patient financial services area.* Analyzes, interprets, and summarizes pertinent revenue cycle data components, and monitor performance against Key Performance Indicators;* Develops professional and technical skill set in subordinate staff, and develop ongoing training and education materials for staff and patient education;* Supervises, trains, develops and motivates subordinate staff;* Performs related duties as required.**REQURIED SKILLS:*** Effective and efficient organization and planning skills with the proven ability to manage complex multi-workstream performance improvement projects or multiple concurrent client engagements, while delegating and overseeing the work of junior team members* Proven analytical and critical thinking skills required to synthesize complex data sets and interpret qualitative and quantitative data and trends to implement recommendations resulting in measurable performance improvement and successful organizational change* Impactful and professional written and verbal communication set clear project team direction, develop key deliverables, escalate risks, and influence key stakeholders inclusive of client and internal senior leadership* Ability to collaborate with team members and client counterparts to understand business challenges, adapt implementation methodologies and approaches to ensure results align with client’s business objectives* Team leadership experience including building talent, training, supervising, coaching/mentoring, and performance management**CORE QUALIFICATIONS:*** Current permanent U.S. work authorization required* Bachelor's degree required* Proficient in Microsoft office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)* Direct Supervisory Experience required* Patient Financial Services experience required, 2-3 in a leadership capacity required* 6-8+ years of healthcare operations experience*The estimated salary range for this job is $115,000 - $145,000.
The range represents a good faith estimate of the range that Huron reasonably expects to pay for this job at the time of the job posting. The actual salary paid to an individual will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to specific skills or certifications, years of experience, market changes and required travel.
This job is also eligible to participate in Huron’s annual incentive compensation program, which reflects Huron’s pay for performance philosophy and Huron’s benefit plans which include medical, dental and vision coverage and other wellness programs.
