Job Summary The Mortgage team is looking for a highly motivated

Senior QA Engineer

to join our growing Mortgage product engineering team. In this role, you'll play a key part in ensuring the quality and reliability of our client-facing and internal applications by developing and executing both manual tests and automated tests. You'll work closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to ensure the correct functionality of our client-facing user experiences, validate REST API data integrity, and help drive a culture of quality across the team. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and comfortable navigating complex systems—bringing both strong technical skills and a collaborative mindset to support our fast-paced, high-impact engineering teams.

What you’ll do:

Design and implement comprehensive test plans and detailed test cases that align with product goals and technical specifications

Execute a wide variety of testing approaches including functional, integration, regression, exploratory, and performance testing across web and backend systems

Identify, log, and manage defects throughout the software development lifecycle; work closely with engineering teams to triage and resolve issues efficiently

Collaborate with product owners, stakeholders, and engineers to plan and manage feature rollouts, including owning the QA sign-off process for releases

Develop, maintain, and scale automated test suites for REST APIs using tools like Postman, and UI automation using Playwright with JavaScript/TypeScript/Java

Write and execute SQL queries to validate backend logic, perform data integrity checks, and support test data generation

Analyze logs, API responses, and metrics using tools like Sentry, Grafana, and Heap to validate issues, monitor test environments, and support root cause analysis

Collaborate with designers and frontend developers to ensure UI reliability and usability, using design tools like Figma

Take initiative to optimize existing QA workflows, identify areas for process improvements, and propose and implement tooling enhancements

Contribute to a culture of quality by championing best practices in test coverage, documentation, and risk-based testing

Ensure high customer satisfaction with our products and features

What you’ll bring:

4+ years of experience in a QA Engineer or Test Automation Engineer role within an fast-paced agile environment

Strong understanding of QA methodologies, test planning, test execution, and defect management

Proficiency in API testing using Postman and SQL

Experience with automated UI testing, ideally using Playwright or Cypress with JavaScript/TypeScript/Java

Familiarity with CI/CD tools like Jenkins, Github actions and issue tracking systems such as JIRA

Experience working with monitoring/logging tools like Sentry and Grafana

Ability to read and understand JSON structures and work comfortably with RESTful APIs

Comfortable working in a highly collaborative cross-functional team environment

Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to clearly document test plans and findings

Self-starter with a growth mindset who can manage their time effectively and complete duties without heavy oversight

Good to have:

Has QA experience of financial technology platforms or document automation systems. Experience with financial data aggregation, data processing systems, or document processing platforms is highly desirable.

Security testing knowledge would be good to have
