The GCIO COO function operates as the backbone of the GCIO organisation, taking ownership and accountability for all operational aspects to ensure a seamless running of the GCIO business to exceptionally high standards. Aligned to the overall HSBC business structure, focused on continuous improvement and simplification to support GCIO to a consistent high quality, GCIO COO acts as a key enabler to the firm’s ambition to ‘be the most trusted bank globally, putting customers at the heart of everything we do’.

This role is part of the COO GBGF Vendor Management pillar which aims to manage all GCIO/technology vendors is a consistent and best practice manner. Vendor Management’s goal is to create consistent and structured approach to managing technology vendors throughout their lifecycle – from selection to renewal or exit – maximising value, addressing risk and aligning performance with business goals.

The role supports HSBC’s Chief Technology Office (CTO) which manages the Technology infrastructure on which the majority of the bank’s applications & services operate on – spanning data centres, networks, hosting platforms, end user devices amongst others. The Vendor Management Analyst role supports end-to-end vendor financial management activities globally across a ~$1bn cost base, including facilitating the planning process for vendor contracts/renewals, facilitating contract approvals, overseeing purchase orders, MI reporting.

What you’ll do

Deliver an exceptional service to dedicated Platform– by providing support in end-to-end vendor financial management process.

Build strong relationship & collaborate with range of stakeholders: Technical Teams, Finance, Operations Managers, COO team, Procurement and Cost Management.

Maintain reports and MI to facilitate the planning process for Vendor contracts/renewals

Create reports/dashboards for critical financial processes.

Produce regular management reporting as well as ad-hoc vendor management related analysis & insights for Platform.

Provide support in global contracts cost allocations, Rate Setting, business cases,

Update forecasts and manage budget/funding and workforce requirements

What you need to have to succeed in this role

Strong senior stakeholder management skills. You will interact with senior stakeholders and managers on a regular basis.

Solid Vendor Management knowledge and Financial and commercial awareness. You must have strong experience in Vendor Management area- ideally in a global, large organisation within financial services industry.

Proficiency in English. We are a diverse company. Ability to communicate on a business level with everyone is a must.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to synthesize complex information and make data-driven decisions to drive business outcomes

Innovative thinking. We don’t settle for mediocracy, and neither should you. You must be able to challenge conventional approach and create new ways of working in dynamically changing world

Organised with an ability to manage a large volume of tasks

Experience of operating within a complex matrix environment

Knowledge of the external environment - regulatory, political, competitor and market
