POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Practical Nursing Associate Instructor - Evening Class
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
An Associate Degree in Nursing is required.
Must have a current TN Registered Nurse License.
A minimum of 3 years of current hospital and/or nursing home experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s Degree is preferred from an accredited college or university.
Teaching experience is preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
Ability to exercise sound judgment in evaluating situations and making decisions;
ability to deal tactfully with the public and co-workers;
ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly; and plan and direct the work of others.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Teach full course curriculum; develop course outlines, lesson plans, lectures, and exams.
Supervise student’s clinical experiences as scheduled.
Provide individual evaluation of each student’s progress with counseling and appropriate recommendations when required.
Maintain confidential, accurate, and complete student records.
Participate in recruitment of students and placement of graduates.
Cooperate with outside agencies; work with program advisory committees; conduct visits to businesses and agencies hiring Allied Health students; establish and maintain good public relations with the general public.
Actively seek potential clinical sites for the provision of clinical training.
Maintain ongoing competencies required for RN licensure by participation in continuing education opportunities.
SALARY: Commensurate with TBR/Tennessee College of Applied Technology salary guidelines.
