Verrus is looking for candidates to serve as Strategic Sourcing Manager, Critical Infrastructure with a focus on our Mechanical and/or Electrical equipment. This is a full‑time position based out of Verrus’ Mountain View, CA office (Hybrid or Remote U.S. Flexible). As the Sourcing Lead for critical, high‑value infrastructure, you will own the end‑to‑end commercial lifecycle—from pioneering early‑stage engineering partnerships to developing multi‑year technology roadmaps. This accountability spans the entire value chain, including negotiation, contract execution, purchase order placement, logistics tracking, and ensuring successful delivery, installation, and commissioning at the data center site. This role is highly strategic, requiring you to design and execute the overall sourcing strategy, driving significant cost optimization and efficiency while proactively managing and mitigating complex, long‑lead supply‑chain risks inherent in global project execution. You will serve as the primary commercial advisor to key business partners, cultivating deep, high‑impact relationships with both internal stakeholders and strategic external suppliers. Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing and Commercial Management

Category Ownership: Drive the global sourcing strategy for high‑value Mechanical (e.g.. Chillers, Fan Walls, etc.) and/or Electrical categories (e.g.. High Voltage Breakers and Transformers, Medium Voltage Switchgear, etc.). Engineering Development Support: Work directly with the Engineering team to define product specifications, drive cost optimization during the engineering development phase, and align technology roadmaps with supplier capabilities. Negotiation & Contracting: Lead complex commercial negotiations, draft robust agreements in collaboration with the Verrus Legal team; including detailed SLAs, quality guarantees, and cancellation clauses. Cost Management: Develop and maintain "Should‑Cost" models, Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analyses, and cost optimization goals for managed categories. Supply Chain Planning and Risk Management Risk Mitigation: Proactively identify, monitor, and mitigate supply‑chain risks related to geopolitical events, material scarcity, and single‑source dependencies across the mechanical and/or electrical commodity groups. Supply Chain Planning: Partner with the Delivery and Construction teams to manage capacity planning and buffer stock strategies to ensure Continuity of Supply despite volatile global markets. Relationship Management: Cultivate and manage strategic relationships with global Tier 1 critical infrastructure OEMs to drive collaboration and performance. Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience 5+ years of strategic sourcing, global supply chain, or procurement experience, preferably in critical infrastructure, high‑tech manufacturing, or data center construction. Experienced in negotiation and managing complex, multi‑year commercial and legal agreements. Strong proficiency in analyzing TCO and developing clear executive‑level presentations. Preferred Qualifications

MBA or Master’s degree in Supply Chain or Engineering. Direct experience managing supplier relationships with major Mechanical or Electrical Infrastructure OEMs. Compensation

The annual base salary range for this position in California is $140,000–$160,000. Salary is only one part of Verrus’ comprehensive compensation package, which also includes a discretionary bonus, equity, general health benefits and paid time off.
