Material Handler/ Forklift Operator
Material handlers are integral members in movement of material throughout the facility. Material handlers are responsible for operating lift trucks to keep production operating as smoothly and safely as possible. Material handlers transport raw materials, semi-finished goods and finished goods desired locations including loading and unloading trailers and railcars.
Responsibilities:
Work to ensure that the supply of materials remains continuous so that the production process is not halted and the demands of our customers are met. Load and/or unload material from trucks or railcars such as palletized boxes, raw material, semi-finished goods, packages, etc. Transfer product from storage areas to desired location(s). Staging and loading recyclable waste. Perform inventory cycle counts. Maintain storage areas to ensure inventory is accurate and can be easily accounted for. Use RF Gun/VMU for all inventory movements. Read BOLs and receive oral or written instructions to determine work assignments. Transferring materials in a high-volume environment. Follow SOP and daily standard work. Perform daily forklift inspections. Adhere to GMP policy. Other duties as assigned. Requirements:
Forklift Experience Must be able to accurately observe correct paths of travel and areas for product placement. Must be able to communicate and exchange information with teammates. Must be able to operate equipment including desktop computers and handheld devices, firmly grasp tools and machinery Must be able to use good judgment when driving on a forklift, as well as situational awareness on the floor. Additional Requirements Include:
Capable of Forklift Certification. Experience Driving a Forklift. Knowledge of MS Excel/Word, SAP and RF Scanners. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Pay Rate: $20.95/hr. Shifts: 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. or 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m Raleigh, NC 27603
