Chief Inspector

This Opportunity WSP is currently initiating a search for a Chief Inspector for our Glastonbury office with an interest in bridge and transit engineering/construction. Your Impact Assign and supervise construction inspection team members. Review and check inspector's daily work reports for correctness and accuracy. Keep the Resident Engineer informed of field construction operations. Participate in meetings and ensure the field staff is conforming to all health and safety standards. Communicate with contractor's foreman and supervisors regarding work schedules and work operations. Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP's Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures. Who You Are Required Qualifications High School Diploma Minimum 11 years of acceptable inspection experience. Strong oral and written communication skills of technical documents. Valid Driver's License and reliable transportation. Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP's health, safety and harassment policies. Preferred Qualifications NACE I and/or SSPC Certification. AMPP Certification. OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification. NICET IV or acceptable equivalent ASCE grade or combination of acceptable education and experience on similar duties as a NYSDOT employee.
