Role Overview You will lead the development and integration of Target’s assortment forecasting capability, enabling smarter seasonal investments, space strategies, digital assortment planning, and in-season insights. You will guide the design and implementation of new pre-season and in-season forecasting routines, support the growth of Demand Planning & Forecasting within TII, and equip US-based planners with improved tools, processes, and analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Build and enhance Target’s assortment forecasting capability, creating unified enterprise views across categories.
Lead the rollout of new forecasting routines, tools, and training for planning teams.
Support TII in standing up robust Demand Planning & Forecasting processes and integrating them with enterprise workflows.
Guide assortment investment strategies across seasonal, space, and digital channels.
Consolidate and reconcile assortment forecasts with financial plans, demand plans, and enterprise scenarios.
Partner with insights teams to strengthen data, analytics, and decision‑making quality.
Communicate clear, insight‑driven recommendations to senior leaders.
Develop planning talent and cultivate a culture of curiosity, innovation, and continuous improvement.
About You
Four‑year degree or equivalent experience
10+ years of relevant experience in planning, forecasting, merchandising, or retail strategy
Strong financial acumen and understanding of retail forecasting and assortment strategy
Experience with demand planning systems, forecasting tools, or capability building
Excellent communication, collaboration, and storytelling abilities
Ability to lead through ambiguity, drive cross‑functional alignment, and influence senior stakeholders
Strong analytical, decision‑making, and organizational skills
Experience developing high‑performing teams and navigating complex, fast‑paced environments
Curious, resilient, and comfortable with change; committed to inclusive leadership
This position will operate as a Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement based on Target’s needs. A Hybrid/Flex for Your Day work arrangement means the team member’s core role will need to be performed both onsite at the Target HQ MN location and virtually, depending on daily requirements. Work duties cannot be performed outside of the country of the primary work location.
