Program Director – Pharma at Gilbane Building, Baltimore, MD.
Overview Do you consider yourself to be a highly technical, strong communicator with the desire to work in a team environment on complex projects? Gilbane is seeking a Program Director – Pharma to be the head of all project activities, holding overall accountability for the successful, congruent delivery of the program, ensuring the integration of all construction project partners, systems, business structures and practices. This role will sit primarily on the job site, with occasional travel to the office for trainings, meetings, etc. This is a traveler position.

Responsibilities Leadership
Effectively conveys project vision through a variety of appropriate communication methods
Communicates ongoing, accurate, complete, and clear information to all stakeholders regarding the reason for change and the implementation process of change, from C‑Suite to Project Engineer level
Inspires the organization through both written and verbal messages, conveying public information appropriately in a positive manner
Creates and maintains infuential relations through effective communication
Ensures alignment of communication, processes, resources, and systems across the project with vision and direction
Diagnoses gaps in knowledge, experience, skills and behavior that underlie current and future performance
Fosters corporation across project teams and removes barriers to partnerships and teamwork that inhibit fulfillment of project goals and priorities
Formulates clear decision criteria; evaluates options by considering implications and consequences and chooses effective option

Provides strategic insights and recommendations to executive leadership for informed decision‑making
Operational / Delivery
Oversees all construction activities on the project, ensuring the project has adequate operational strategies in place to achieve the desired expectations
Creates culture and champions onsite safety to the “Gilbane Cares” philosophy
Anticipates technical issues that may arise and offers expert advice on technical construction elements
Commercial / Contractual
Manages risk and controls expenses to ensure overall profitability in alignment with objectives
Holds overall responsibility for project P&L and financial reporting
Qualifications
BS or MS Degree in Engineering or Construction Management
LEED Accredited highly preferred
A minimum of 25 years’ building construction experience with previous experience in pharmaceutical manufacturing facility construction required
Previously sat at the top of an Integrated Project Delivery scheme
Experience of working as Construction Manager at Risk & Design Build
Experience of commercial construction and R&D projects

Salary and Benefits Salary to be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and experience. Pay ranges from $223,400–$355,960 plus benefits and retirement program. Gilbane offers an excellent total compensation package including competitive health and welfare benefits and a generous profit‑sharing/401(k) plan.
