Director of Operations/Service - Boilers/HVAC
Company is a full service mechanical contracting company specializing in heating plants for multifamily and commercial buildings in the New York City metro area. We strongly believe that layering technology on mechanical systems enhances the quality of service and customer experience that we deliver. We have developed Axxon, a controls and monitoring system, to provide this holistic experience for our customers.
This individual will be responsible for sales, operations, profit/loss and must have a proven track record of achieving or exceeding revenue and profit goals. Our organization believes in developing leaders and decision-makers. The role will provide you significant autonomy along with organizational support to help you succeed.
The Service' Manager's top priorities are to increase revenue by developing existing business, cultivating new customers, improving the customer experience, improving skills of assigned service technicians and ensuring optimum use of staffing and equipment. The Director of Operations-Service will have expertise in scaling business operations, implementing business processes and software, managing and being a P&L leader in the commercial services industry.
Duties
Manage division’s P&L and KPIs
Develop recurring operational reports and divisional budget
Effective supervision of Service division staff
Manage Service division’s inventory (materials, parts and supplies) and vehicles
Serve as primary contact for certain customers
Identify bid opportunities, prepare bid packages, and approve estimates for jobs
Develop additional business opportunities and improve our proposals closing rate
Contract management (service contracts and large repair contracts)
Leverage relationships across the company to cross-sell products and services
Manage credit exposure and collections
Business Processes
ERP and Service software implementation and optimization
Efficient scheduling of division resources including but not limited to personnel, equipment, vehicles and materials
Staffing of technicians and supervisors
Employee development and trainings
Define and optimize the customer experience (including Axxon)
Collaborate with Director of Controls on new alerts, alarms and workflows that improve heating system uptime and reliability
Safety and Quality
Ensure safe work environment
Coordinate safety training programs for technicians and laborers
Oversee routine inspections of equipment (e.g. trucks, safety equipment, uniforms and tools) to ensure that company policies and regulatory requirements are being enforced
