The Role: As the Director, Sales & Field Applications, Americas, you will translate business strategy into reality, driving commercial effectiveness, revenue, and brand expansion across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. You will lead sales, applications, and regional marketing strategy and execution for the division in these markets.
Responsibilities
Direct line management responsibility and accountability for Account Managers and the Manager, Field Applications.
Coach, mentor, and perform performance management for all functions in the Americas sales and applications organization.
Dual reporting/oversight to the marketing strategy and Marketing Manager.
Develop strategy for the region(s), generate and drive territory specific plans, and implement commercial tactics to achieve revenue expectations and a best‑in‑class customer experience while partnering with product‑specific commercial and business leaders.
Deliver on financial revenue commitments consistently with a focus on growth and market protection; provide revenue forecasts as required.
Monitor commercial effectiveness by representative, territory and region; collect, generate, and report effectiveness metrics.
Deliver MBR/QBR content concisely and effectively.
Drive teamwork and intensity across the region; collaborate with other commercial leaders in alignment with Thermo Fisher’s 4i values.
Drive adoption and compliance of commercial systems and processes (CRM, training, etc.).
Provide VOC/VOS to internal teams and collaborators such as SLT, product management, service/support, and marketing.
Assess and summarize regional competitive product performance and commercial activity to optimize TDX strategies and achieve long‑term goals.
Develop relationships and engage regularly with key customers; strengthen and expand the KOL network.
Co‑organize regional technical workshops and training events in partnership with internal and customer teams.
Perform other related duties as required.
Requirements
A four‑year college degree in Biological Sciences or a related field.
10 years of sales experience, with a minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a commercial role.
Experience working with channels/distribution.
Strong leadership skills with a proven record in building successful teams.
Familiarity with molecular biology and immunology related laboratory techniques.
Demonstrated experience working effectively in a matrix organization.
Excellent listening and interpersonal skills; effective oral and written presentation communication ability.
Fluent written and verbal skills in English.
Extensive travel may be required.
Additional Preferred Experience
Experience in clinical diagnostics and/or regulated environments.
Background in HLA or transplant related fields.
Fluency in Spanish and/or Portuguese.
Compensation And Benefits The salary range for this position based in Rhode Island is $170,600.00–$230,500.00.
Variable annual bonus may also be eligible based on company, team, and individual performance results in accordance with company policy.
