Senior Project Manager
Permanent Full-Time Exempt Position.
Location: Remote, but must travel in person to project sites throughout the U.S. as needed, with travel requirements of 60% to 80%.
Compensation: Based on experience.
Position Summary The successful Senior Project Manager will drive GBI’s safe work culture and high-quality work through management of people, resources, and customer expectations. This role results in on-time completion schedules and profitability for GBI.
Primary Responsibilities
Strictly enforce safe work performance on all assigned projects.
Manage daily interaction and planning with customers, field superintendents, field crews and all GBI departments (Engineering, Fabrication, Field Warehouse, Purchasing, QA/QC, Safety, Administration, ++).
Serve as primary contact with customers.
Provide regular reporting of project progress including any variances.
Coordinate daily with sub-contractors (and consortium partners as applicable) regarding project details and compliance.
Maintain project schedules and expenditures to budgeted amounts; optimize project cash flow.
Manage change order process and claims management.
Facilitate harmonious project execution with all parties involved, ensuring resolution to any issues that may arise.
Gather data for bids/estimates.
Verify accuracy of reports, closeout books, purchase orders and invoices.
Other duties as assigned.
Wisely allocate resources (people, equipment, materials) to ensure that all project phases are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
Responsible for close‑out of project after ensuring the accurate completion of required work and documents, submittals required to the customer, and final payment.
Proven track‑record of success in leading people.
Strong focus on safe work performance (OSHA, MSHA).
Strong ability to work well with others.
Ability to interact throughout organization within Standard Work Process Map.
Ability to multi‑task and to work independently and with minimal direction.
Proven ability to communicate effectively in writing, verbally and in‑person.
Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, Project.
Ability to represent GBI in a professional manner.
Ability to work a flexible work schedule.
Ability to travel as needed.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field.
Minimum of six (6) years prior experience in construction, managing projects $5M+ (industrial industry).
