Consultant Position Summary We seek an experienced, skilled, and results-oriented Construction Consultant who will collaborate with the YBG Department of Labor Program Impact team to provide high-quality technical assistance and training for the construction component of local YouthBuild programs. The position requires a certified NCCER Master Trainer with a strong foundation in construction skills and experience training others. Strong attention to detail and project management skills are crucial.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities Construction Trainings
Review and approve resume experience and qualifications for construction trainers
Serve as Project Director for the NCCER Instructor Certification Training Program (ICTP), co‑facilitating training sessions, gathering field insights, and ensuring NCCER sponsorship requirements.
Partner with HBI Trainers to deliver robust training that includes key elements of the YouthBuild construction component.
Support planning with contracted OSHA authorized trainer.
Partner with TradesFutures to promote MC3 training offerings to ensure programs taking the training have prior approval from their local Building Trades Council.
Resource and Capacity Building
Develop resources (webinars, toolkits, guides) to enhance the construction training component and better equip YouthBuild construction trainers.
Respond to field inquiries and provide program support or interventions to correct issues.
Identify and develop technical assistance linking the development and repair of affordable housing to community service.
Other Duties & Responsibilities
Engage with partners, including NCCER, HBI, OSHA, TradesFutures, etc.
Facilitate communication between NCCER and the Registered Training Programs under YBG’s sponsorship.
Attend internal and external meetings and conferences as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Requirements Education & Experience Required
NCCER Master Trainer certification.
Knowledge of construction pre‑apprenticeship to apprenticeship models, certifications and licensing.
Experience with industry-recognized certifications and credentials and recommending relevant options to strengthen YouthBuild’s construction career pathway.
Familiarity with trade unions, career technical education, vocational schools, and workforce initiatives.
Deep knowledge of and/or experience delivering the three Department of Labor approved Construction Certifications (NCCER, HBI, and MC3).
Education & Experience Preferred
Minimum five years continuous experience in construction training, trade, or equivalent.
Experience managing and implementing the YouthBuild construction component.
OSHA 510/500 Construction Industry Outreach Certified Trainer.
Skills & Knowledge Required The ideal candidate exercises good judgment, works well with a team, and has knowledge of construction. Demonstrated strong relationship management, effective decision‑making, presentation, verbal and written communication, entrepreneurial spirit, resourcefulness, and commitment to YouthBuild Global’s mission. Proficient in MS Office Suite, database management, and project management.
Physical Effort Required Travel up to 25% of the time and occasionally push, pull, and carry items weighing less than 20 lbs.
Benefits Contract period: January 26, 2026 to June 29, 2026 (22 weeks).
30 to 60 hours monthly.
Up to $100/hr – maximum 300 hours total.
