Responsibilities The Director of Supply Chain and Clinical Engineering is responsible for the strategic direction and operation of Supply Chain activities across Berkshire Health Systems. This position is responsible for ensuring organizational compliance with all legal requirements and government regulations that affect supply chain (DPH, CMS, JC , etc.). This position ensures the administrative responsibilities for the Supply Chain division within Berkshire Health Systems which encompasses Contract Management/Purchasing, Clinical Engineering, Asset Management, Storeroom/Supplies Management, Mail room/Couriers, Linen and Laundry, Printing and Duplication and Value Analysis. Responsible for the administration of Berkshire Health Systems group purchasing organizations committed contracting program. Responsible for the implementation of appropriate materials, goods and services to meet the needs of Berkshire Health Systems, Berkshire Medical Center, Berkshire Medical Center North Adams Campus, Hillcrest Hospital, Fairview Hospital, and Physician Practices. Responsible for the preparation and administration of the budgets for Contract Management/Purchasing, Clinical Engineering, Asset Management, Storeroom/Supplies Management, Mail room/Couriers, Linen and Laundry, Printing/ Duplication and Value Analysis. Responsible for the administration of the Q.A. program for the Contract Management and Clinical Engineering.
Position Qualifications
Experience:
Previous experience in Materials Management/Purchasing.
Strong clinical background for administration of committed contracting
Strong technical background for negotiating contracts
Education and Training:
Bachelor’s degree in business preferred or equivalent education or experience
License, Certification & Registration:
N/A
Other Requirements:
Proven ability to negotiate, facilitate and mediate a requirement
Strong interpersonal skills a must.
Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
Must be proficient in basic computer skills.
Previous budget and group purchasing experience required.
Strong organizational skills required
Demonstrated success in organizing and managing expense reduction/quality improvement initiatives in Supply Chain.
Significant experience in capital investment analysis and contracting: physical plant, medical equipment services.
