Transplant Coordinator – RN

The BIDMC Nursing Mission is a legacy of nursing excellence. The Transplant Coordinator – RN provides comprehensive care to transplant recipients and live donors throughout all of transplantation or donation, coordinating with physicians, surgeons, and the transplant team to ensure regulatory compliance and optimal patient outcomes. Essential Responsibilities
Coordinate information from referring physician and required testing, clinic visits, and pre‑transplant evaluation for potential transplant recipients and living donors according to clinical pathways. Provide education to recipients, donors, and primary caregivers regarding all aspects of transplantation/donation, including pre‑transplant preparation, operative procedure, post‑operative management, long‑term follow‑up, and research protocols. Participate in medical and surgical outpatient clinics with collaborating physicians and surgeons; review outpatient lab values and test results; adjust care plan as needed with physician/surgeon. Coordinate and facilitate discharge planning with in‑patient team to maintain continuity of care. Document accurately, appropriately, and timely to meet state and federal regulatory requirements. Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing required. Registered Nurse license required. American Heart Association – Basic Life Support certificate required. 3–5 years related work experience required. Basic familiarity with computers; ability to navigate web‑based applications at a basic level. Preferred Qualifications
Experience in a teaching hospital and specialty area expertise. Ambulatory or transplant experience preferred. Pay Range
$39.14 – $101.14 per hour (base hourly wage). Compensation may exceed the base hourly rate depending on shift differentials, call pay, premium pay, overtime pay, and other additional pay practices, as permitted by law. Equal Opportunity Employer / Veterans / Disabled
