Responsibilities
Design and develop custom code, scripts, modules, macros, libraries, and dynamic link libraries to support advanced geospatial analysis using Python.
Provide on‑demand scripting support in Python and other languages to automate geoprocessing workflows for large datasets. Mentor and assist analysts in creating custom scripts as needed.
Optimize the use of computing resources to process massive geospatial datasets efficiently. Implement strategies for data deduplication, reduction, and streamlined processing.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Geography, or a related technical discipline (equivalent experience may substitute for degree).
Experience scripting for data analysis, workflow automation, and application development.
Desired Qualifications
Familiarity with distributed computing and optimization for large‑scale data processing.
Background in data engineering, including scalable pipeline development, performance tuning, and best practices for data management.
Proficiency with Git, Jira, and creating clear technical documentation.
Skilled in modeling geospatial data and working with both NoSQL and relational databases (Elasticsearch and PostgreSQL preferred).
Hands‑on experience with Geospatial and Image Processing tools and techniques.
