Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for PMS 321 programs related to amphibious, littoral, and small surface combatants and platforms

Oversee and direct engineering teams working on ship modernization and sustainment

Directly supervise engineers and technical personnel on the team

Analyze, manipulate, or process large sets of data using statistical software

Identify business problems or program objectives that can be addressed through data analysis

Analyze data to estimate costs and to develop and determine the feasibility of designs and proposals

Analyze system performance across ships and plan for the sustainment of those systems

Review engineering plans and designs to ensure adherence to specifications and compliance with applicable codes and standards

Evaluate performance of ships and systems during testing and trials to determine conformance with design standards

Coordinate with shipyard contractors and write reports to track completion of work

Prepare technical reports and provide recommendations to NAVSEA leadership

Identify and resolve equipment malfunctions in collaboration with manufacturers, field representatives, and shore support activities

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in science, engineering, or related field

Minimum of 12 years of professional experience supporting the Navy or shipyards that service Navy ships

At least 1 year of demonstrated supervisory experience directly overseeing engineers or technical personnel

Experience with hull, mechanical, and electrical (HM&E) systems, combat systems, or aviation systems

Familiarity with Navy modernization processes, systems engineering, and ship design requirements

Desired Qualifications

Master's degree in science, engineering, or related field

Professional engineer's license

15+ years professional experience, including experience in modernization or lifecycle management programs for Navy ships

Experience supporting DoD/DoW components
