Responsibilities
This is a primarily weekend shift supporting operations of autoclaves and ovens
Understanding of AMS2750 and how it applies to composite manufacturing
HMI development and standardization for cure equipment
Be able to manage schedule and think creatively to implement unique solutions
Identify and own R&D projects that will save money and/or reduce labor for multiple programs
Solve technical issues using root cause methodologies based on underlying scientific principals and an understanding of chemical processes
Identify and develop technical solutions that meet IRAD and Process Service project goals
Provide technical decisions and recommendations based on data and project outcomes
Lead development efforts to reduce cost, increase process efficiency, and ensure consistent quality in support of current and future programs
Work with internal and external partners to champion and ensure success of projects
Act as principal investigator on selected new proposals and projects
Manage execution of the project requirements to cost and schedule objectives
Foster an environment of cooperation and teamwork within the Process and Technology Development team

This role may be filled at a Principal level depending on the qualifications below.
Basic Qualifications Engineer Research and Development Level 2
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 1 year of engineering experience in Systems, Productions, Manufacturing, Product, Mission, Mechanical, Software or Materials OR; Master’s in a STEM field and 0 years
Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a special program access clearance
Principal Engineer Research And Development Level 3
Bachelor’s Degree in STEM field (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) and 4 years of engineering experience in Systems, Productions, Manufacturing, Product, Mission, Mechanical, Software or Materials OR; Master’s in a STEM field and 3 years of engineering experience in mentioned fields OR; Ph.D. with 0 years of experience in mentioned engineering fields.
Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD Secret clearance
Ability to obtain and maintain a special program access clearance

Aerospace composite manufacturing methods
Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience
Thermal modeling experience

Primary Level Salary Range: $79,300.00 - $118,900.00
Secondary Level Salary Range: $98,400.00 - $147,600.00
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
