VFX Specialist
role at

Project Goals & Inspiration
Objective: Enhance videos—primarily landscapes or subjects—with semi-realistic, enriching visual effects.
Creative Direction: Inspired by Higgs Field-style effects (e.g., motion wraps, dynamic elements around hands) to add depth and energy to footage.
Role Focus: This is a VFX specialist position, not a motion designer role. Candidates must have hands‑on experience creating visual effects for film or AAA gaming.
Key Responsibilities
VFX Creation: Design and implement semi-realistic effects (such as explosions, lightning, dynamic wraps) using Maya, Houdini, Nuke, Flame, Blender, or similar tools. Effects should be created as standalone assets and composited onto footage, with attention to realism (lighting, shadows, tint).
Compositing: Apply VFX assets to video footage, ensuring seamless integration and realistic interaction with the environment. Skilled compositing is required for proper lighting, shadows, and tone.
Pipeline Collaboration: Work within a studio-style workflow—VFX artists generate effects, compositors apply them to footage. Candidates must be comfortable with both creation and compositing tasks.
Asset Management: Develop and manage reusable effect presets and libraries, ensuring compatibility across tools and minimizing third‑party plugin issues.
Video Enhancement: Elevate footage with dynamic visual elements, focusing on landscapes and subjects as per project inspiration.
Color Correction & Enhancement: Adjust color, lighting, and visual style to meet artistic and technical requirements.
Required Skills
VFX Experience: Demonstrated hands‑on experience as a VFX artist in film or AAA gaming is required. Pure motion design backgrounds are not suitable.
Tool Proficiency: Expert proficiency in Nuke, Maya, Houdini, and/or Blender. After Effects is useful for compositing, but candidates should be comfortable with native VFX creation in 3D tools.
Compositing & Animation Principles: Strong understanding of compositing, keyframing, and animation principles, with direct VFX artist work.
Pipeline Knowledge: Familiarity with typical studio workflows—creating VFX assets and compositing them onto footage for realism.
Asset Creation & Management: Ability to create, share, and manage effect presets and libraries, with awareness of compatibility issues from third‑party plugins.
Attention to Detail: Ability to deliver high‑quality, realistic effects under tight deadlines.
Collaboration: Strong communication and teamwork skills.
