Unit Coordinator – BIDMC Medicine (40 Hours, day shift)
Join the Beth Israel Lahey Health team to facilitate smooth unit functioning, serve as liaison between patients, visitors, and clinicians, coordinate day‑to‑day patient flow with nurses, and provide outstanding customer service.
Essential Responsibilities
Facilitate patient flow through the unit, coordinating admissions with nursing staff and admission facilitator.
Answer patient call lights in a timely manner and provide non‑clinical information to patients, families, and staff.
Utilize all available information systems to support unit operations, ensuring accurate data entry and serving as the point person for IS issues.
Maintain equipment, troubleshoot printer/copier/fax issues, and coordinate special purchases such as specialty beds.
Investigate lost belongings, maintain tracking logs, and report unresolved losses to the Operations Coordinator.
Required Qualifications
High School diploma or GED required; Associate’s degree preferred.
0‑1 year related work experience required.
Prior customer service experience.
Basic computer proficiency and basic navigation of web‑based applications.
Preferred Qualifications Previous administrative experience in a healthcare setting.
Pay Range $20.50 – $27.59 hourly.
Physical Nature of the Job Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and up to 20 pounds of force frequently; requires standing/moving throughout the shift.
