Overview
IT Infrastructure Architect/Systems Engineer at Guidehouse. This role focuses on enterprise IT infrastructure architecture, modernization, cloud adoption, and security to support national security-related missions. The position requires collaboration with EA, cybersecurity teams, and a broad set of internal and external stakeholders, including vendors and government personnel. Responsibilities
Provide enterprise IT infrastructure architecture services within the enterprise IT environment. Modernize agency IT infrastructure services using industry best practices, federal standards, and emerging technologies; develop strategies for system integration, interoperability, security, sustainability, and scalability; assist with EA program management governance. Support the transition to a modern IT environment that promotes cloud adoption, cybersecurity, and system interoperability. Provide recommendations for portfolio optimization, including rationalization of applications and IT infrastructure. Design, modernize, and govern a large IT ecosystem supporting national security missions, balancing advanced technology with security, compliance, and cost-effectiveness requirements. Establish the As-Built/As-Is IT infrastructure from aging, fragmented, siloed systems with security risks. Modernize the physical network and infrastructure that connects multiple sites and labs. Collaborate with EA and cybersecurity teams to integrate security principles from the ground up and ensure compliance with federal security standards for classified and unclassified systems. Design and implement cloud strategies across multiple environments (including classified networks) for efficiency and mission focus. Engage with diverse stakeholders, including site personnel, government officials, and external vendors. Review vendor proposals and manage contractor work to ensure alignment with architectural goals. What You Will Need
Bachelor’s degree in IT, enterprise architecture, or a related field Active Top Secret (TS) or Q clearance required Minimum of six (6) years of IT architecture experience, with emphasis on strategic planning, networking, and security Deep knowledge of designing and implementing safe, scalable, and resilient enterprise IT infrastructure in on-premises and hybrid/multi-cloud environments Extensive experience with federal cybersecurity directives, compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST), and government requirements Background in systems, networking, and cloud architecture; certifications in relevant technologies (e.g., AWS, Azure) are beneficial Ability to analyze complex requirements and develop long-term technology roadmaps that align with national security priorities Excellent written and verbal communication skills for collaboration with technical staff, leadership, and external partners Training certificates in AWS, Azure, Cisco, or Google Cloud are expected What Would Be Nice To Have
Demonstrable FEA and DoDAF knowledge Experience with the latest DOE/NNSA IT infrastructure environments in conjunction with DoD IT environment Compensation and Benefits
The annual salary range for this position is $113,000.00 – $188,000.00. Compensation decisions depend on factors including skill sets, experience, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and business needs. What We Offer
