Director of Food Services
The Director of Dietary Services manages the food service production and delivery system, including purchase and inventory of food and supplies. The director insures conformance with food quality, nutrition, and productivity standards. The director trains, manages and supervises food service staff, practices time management techniques, and ensures the highest possible customer satisfaction.
Responsibilities
Oversee complete operation of food service department.
Direct the expenditure of the food service budget.
Ensure that the food service operates within established budgetary guidelines.
Assign, direct and supervise food service workers.
Responsible for the hiring, transfer, promotion, demotion, or dismissal of food service workers.
Ensures that all local and state food service regulations are met.
Create and monitor salaried and hourly work schedules.
Monitor cash handling procedures, maintain petty cash, and make daily cash deposits.
Maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and safety in the kitchen.
Represent the Dining Services Department at facility meetings.
Understand and implement safety procedures as required by the district.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
High School diploma required.
Must have 3 plus years in food service managerial experience.
Specialized training in food preparation and/or food service management with demonstrable computer, record keeping, and communication skills is highly preferred.
Must be Certified Dietary Manager in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
Serv‑Safe Certified preferred.
