MWR Food and Beverage Director

role at

Navy Region Southwest Fleet and Family Readiness (FFR) . This position is located in the Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department at Naval Base San Diego. The director oversees food and beverage operations, manages cost, staffing, programming, marketing and special events.

Responsibilities

Establish and maintain operation standards directed toward accomplishing mission objectives.

Prepare operation budget, ensure food and beverage services, facilities and equipment are in good repair, supplies of good quality and properly priced.

Maintain internal controls for receipts, property and monies; ensure proper training, supervision and scheduling of staff.

Coordinate food and beverage service for functions and events, working with Facility Operations Manager on menus, beverage pricing and contract arrangements.

Plan and project operations and improvements through financial analysis; ensure maintenance and repair work is completed for all equipment.

Analyze financial data, review budget, submit reports and recommendations to the regional Food & Beverage Manager.

Ensure monthly and annual inventories of food and bar facilities and property are conducted.

Coordinate source data with MWR Accounting Department for reporting.

Conduct meetings and attend conferences related to the Food & Beverage Department.

Maintain communication with MWR Site Manager and regional Food & Beverage Manager.

Carry out EEO policies and ensure compliance with fire, safety, sanitation and security regulations.

Qualifications

Four‑year degree in Food & Beverage Management, Business Administration, or related field, or equivalent experience.

At least one year of specialized experience managing a food and beverage operation, including programming, marketing, catering and banquet operations.

Extensive experience in supervisory capacities, budgeting, financial management and planning.

Strong leadership, negotiation and communication skills with all levels of management.

Required Conditions of Employment
