Finance Director
Job purpose
The Finance Director plays a critical role in partnering with the CEO and the Board of Directors to help make strategic decisions to ensure the organization meets and exceeds its goals and objectives. The Finance Director reports all financial information in a timely manner and assists in making responsible decisions regarding the financial health of the MMS, MedTemps, MMF and MEMPAC (the entities).
Duties and Responsibilities
Analyze and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements
Coordinate and lead the annual external review and audit process, liaise with external auditors and the finance committee of the board of directors; assess any changes necessary
Oversee and lead annual budgeting and planning process in conjunction with the CEO; administer and review all financial plans and budgets; monitor progress and changes and keep CEO and BOD abreast of the organization’s financial status
Manage organizational cash flow and forecasting
Ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), as well as state and federal requirements
Daily tasks include accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll & payroll tax reporting for the MMS
Assist with payroll and accounting matters related to affiliated entities as needed
Maintain Human Resource files and handle general Human Resource issues
Effectively communicate and present the critical financial matters to the board of directors
Maintain the accounting records for all 3rd party clients
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in accounting required; Master’s in Accounting and/or Master’s in Business Administration preferred
Minimum 5 years working experience in public accounting or other accounting field related position
Experience working in a nonprofit organization preferred
Experience working with outside auditors
Ability to translate financial concepts to and effectively collaborate with others who do not necessarily have finance backgrounds
Working Conditions This is a full-time salaried position (32–40 hours/week) with work conducted in-office 9 am – 3 pm. Flexible working arrangements are available upon request and not guaranteed. There are no direct reports to this position.
