Scion Staffing has been engaged to conduct a search for an Accounting Assistant for a design-focused professional services organization. This is an onsite temporary opportunity based in San Francisco, CA.
POSITION OVERVIEW This contract Accounting Assistant role provides hands‑on assistance to a small accounting team during a period of finance leadership transition. The position focuses on accurate data entry, reconciliation, and payables support while partnering closely with the Controller. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail‑oriented accounting professional who enjoys being responsive, organized, and collaborative in a fast‑paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Review and maintain time entries, ensuring accuracy and completeness
Support accounts payable, including vendor payments through Bill.com
Post credit card transactions and process employee expense reports
Assist with reconciliations and creation of project matrices
Communicate with vendors and internal teams to follow up on outstanding items
QUALIFICATIONS
Working knowledge of Bill.com or similar payables platforms
Experience with time entry review and general accounting support tasks
Comfort communicating by phone and email with vendors and internal stakeholders
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage deadlines
Proactive mindset with confidence asking questions and following up
COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS This temporary opportunity offers an hourly pay range of $32–$38, based on experience, and is scheduled for approximately 30 hours per week.
