VP Software Engineering (Remote from Massachusetts) We are looking for a VP, Software Engineering in Massachusetts. In this role, you will drive the adoption of modern software practices, AI‑powered development, and scalable engineering solutions that enhance product quality, speed, and client value. You will collaborate closely with executive leadership to align technical initiatives with business strategy, mentor and develop engineering teams, and represent technology initiatives to both internal stakeholders and external clients.

Accountabilities

Define and execute software engineering strategy across web, mobile, and API platforms to ensure scalability, security, and reliability.

Lead a global engineering organization of managers, directors, and developers to deliver high‑impact products with measurable business value.

Partner with executive leadership, product, and data teams to align technology execution with strategic objectives.

Drive adoption of modern development practices, including CI/CD, feature flagging, trunk‑based development, and automated testing.

Integrate AI into software development, including predictive analytics, intelligent data validation, and AI‑assisted coding and testing.

Oversee full‑cycle development of web and mobile applications, ensuring compliance with privacy, security, and regulatory standards.

Represent software engineering to executive leadership, clients, and partners, translating technical initiatives into business outcomes.

Mentor and develop direct reports, fostering a high‑performing, collaborative, and innovative engineering culture.

Requirements

Minimum 15 years of experience in technology leadership, including managing global engineering teams, operations, and vendor partnerships.

At least 5 years of experience in a healthcare or related regulated environment, implementing customer‑focused solutions.

Proven track record of delivering large‑scale software programs through Agile practices with measurable performance improvements.

Strong executive presence with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

Expertise in modern software engineering practices, cloud‑based applications, AI‑powered development, and secure, scalable architectures.

Analytical, strategic thinker with strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.

Experience managing complex, in‑house and outsourced technology solutions across multiple geographies.

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
