Contech Engineered Solutions is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead a high‑performing team delivering innovative, reliable, and customer‑centric engineering solutions for our precast/prestressed concrete product portfolio. This is a leadership role for a technical expert who thrives on guiding people, strengthening processes, and working cross‑functionally to support sales, operations, production, and senior leadership.
Location: Salt Lake City, UT Salary: $200,000 – $275,000 per year (subject to experience)

What You'll Do
Lead & develop a high‑performing engineering team
Set clear expectations, cultivate a collaborative environment, and provide ongoing coaching, mentoring, and recognition.
Manage staffing, workload, performance, and professional development.
Provide technical leadership & project oversight
Guide and review engineering designs, structural calculations, layouts, estimates, and quotes for precast/prestressed solutions.
Lead and manage project submittals—reinforcing, connection design, handling analyses, transportation/erection considerations, and shop drawing review.
Support field and fabrication needs, including design for repairs or non‑conformances.
Collaborate across the business
Partner with sales on design support, specifications, promotion, installation guidance, and customer problem‑solving.
Build strong relationships with project managers, architects, engineers, contractors, operations, and QA/QC teams to ensure project success.
Communicate metrics, recommendations, and insights to senior management.
Contribute to ongoing process improvements, strategic initiatives, and efficiency tools across engineering.
Ensure technical excellence
Perform engineering analysis and design of precast structures, components, and connections.
Review drawings for quality, accuracy, and compliance with engineering intent.
Respond to shop/field inquiries and coordinate solutions that achieve customer and business goals.
Maintain working knowledge of key codes: IBC, ASCE 7, ACI 318, PCI, AISC, AWS.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil or Structural preferred).
Professional Engineer (P.E.) license with the ability to obtain registration in multiple states.
10+ years of industry experience in precast/prestressed, reinforced concrete, and steel design.
Proven leadership experience supporting engineers, technicians, or project teams.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem‑solving skills.
Ability to manage changing priorities, tight deadlines, and multiple projects.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills—professional, clear, and customer‑focused.
Proficiency in engineering and design software (AutoCAD, MathCAD, Concise, RISA‑3D; FEA a plus).
Demonstrated team‑building ability and passion for achieving shared goals.
Ability to travel up to 15%.
Preferred
Master’s degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Structural Engineering (S.E.) license.
