Health Information Management Director with RHIA and director-level experience is needed for a general acute care hospital in TN. Must have experience with HPF, Meditech, and 3M. Responsibilities
Record processing and completion, coding, clinical documentation improvement (CDI), abstracting, transcription, and release of information; participate in performance improvement activities, MR/UR Committee meetings, data/statistics for internal and other medical staff meetings, and reports of record delinquency and physician suspension. Ensure compliance with federal and state laws, company policies, and reporting requirements related to Medical Records and HIM. Ensure HIM policies and procedures comply with CMS, Joint Commission, Medical Staff Bylaws, Rules and Regulations, and other applicable regulatory agencies. Ensure the integrity, completeness, and accuracy of medical records. Plan, implement, and monitor quality and production of department functions to best support patient care and hospital needs. Ensure HIM goals/targets are met and HIM operations are efficient and within budget. Perform or oversee personnel management functions; provide training and support to HIM staff. Collaborate with physicians and department managers to achieve department and hospital requirements and goals. Qualifications
Education: Graduate of an AHIMA-accredited program with a Baccalaureate degree in Science and Medical Record Administration or higher. RHIA required. Experience: Minimum of five years’ experience as an HIM Director in an acute care facility. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, ad hoc query software, electronic health records, image scanning/index software and workflow, computer-assisted coding (preferably 3M) and encoder software. Strong leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, and accountability skills. Experience with Clinical Documentation Improvement Program (CDIP). Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
