Executive Director - El Paso Live Legends Global, the leader in privately managed public assembly facilities, has an immediate opening for an Executive Director at El Paso Live featuring nationally recognized venues including: El Paso Convention Center, Abraham Chavez Theatre, Plaza Theatre Performing Arts Centre, and the McKelligon Canyon Amphitheater.

Summary Responsible for overall management, promotion, and operation of the facilities, including purchasing, booking, marketing, finance, human resources, food and beverage, box office, advertising, security, production, maintenance, parking, and related operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain active contact with the Client/Contract Administrator and monitor Legends compliance with all provisions of the services contract.

Aggressively promote the use of the facility to maximize its utilization.

Negotiate lease agreements and contracts with event organizers, hosts, managers, and agents.

Establish and maintain effective working relationships with the Client/Contract Administrator, tenants, government departments and agencies, entertainment/convention industry, community, and civic organizations.

Coordinate facility involvement with Convention and Visitors Bureau and other destination marketing agencies.

Assure coordination, implementation and administration of specific plans and programs prescribed by corporate directives.

Develop and implement facility goals in accordance with the management contract, Client’s objectives, corporate policy, and good business practice.

Prepare and maintain required reports for the Client/Contract Administrator and the Corporate Office.

Plan, organize, coordinate, and direct all activities and personnel engaged in maintaining and operating the facility.

Assist and coordinate the development of the annual operating calendar, activity schedules, and projections for attendance and/or revenue.

Conduct marketing, budgeting, and weekly staff meetings.

Direct the development and administer execution of operating and marketing financial plans and documents.

Provide control of day‑to‑day operations, assuring coordination of plans, programs, and events; conduct post‑event operational and financial review and analysis.

Provide final approval of all contracts and agreements with suppliers, promoters, and tenants.

Coordinate timely response to directives and requests from internal and external organizations.

Oversee and advise Human Resources on any necessary staffing revisions.

Assure administration of personnel and operation of plant and facilities in accordance with applicable regulations.

Evaluate facility practices and recommend improvements.

Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate administrative and supervisory staff.

Establish and maintain relationships with tenants, employees, union representatives and the public.

Supervisory Responsibilities Manages subordinate Directors and Managers who supervise employees in the Finance, Marketing, Operations, Food & Beverage Departments, or other facility departments. Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these units, and performs supervisory duties in accordance with Legends policies and applicable laws, including interviewing, hiring, training, performance appraisal, rewarding, disciplining, and addressing complaints.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s Degree (BA) in business or public administration or related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Experience in contract negotiation, business law, purchasing procedures, and supervising personnel.

Experience in labor relations and union contracts, if applicable.

Skills and Abilities

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and organizational ability.

Ability to work with and maintain highly confidential information.

Ability to work simultaneously with a broad variety of vested interest groups and foster a cooperative environment.

Demonstrated knowledge of principles and practices used in managing entertainment or convention facilities.

Ability to anticipate problems and implement corrective action.

Ability to perform effectively under significant pressure.

Knowledge of event solicitation and presentation, public relations, advertising, media relations, and event planning.

Knowledge of safety regulations and other federal, state, or local laws.

Strong orientation toward hospitality/customer service.

Basic knowledge of facility operating standards, building maintenance, custodial, personnel, and office management.

Effective supervisory skills and conflict management.

Ability to manage facilities of same size and type.

Bilingual English/Spanish.

Computer Skills Knowledge of spreadsheets and word processing, and standard office equipment.

Other Qualifications

Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet strict deadlines.

Ability to work under minimal supervision.

Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays, in addition to normal business hours.

Professional attitude and appearance.

Some travel required.
