Senior Architect I - Global Commerce Platforms

A Day In The Life
Lead the design and evolution of technology solutions across the architecture lifecycle, ensuring scalability, performance, and alignment with enterprise standards.
Partner with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Engineers, Project Managers, and Architects to define project requirements, success criteria, and design guidance throughout the development lifecycle.
Actively participate in and present at architecture design reviews, advocating for sound design principles and engineering best practices.
Proactively engage cross‑functional stakeholders, gather organizational context, and incorporate insights into architectural decisions.
Identify and document deviations from future‑state architecture, escalating where necessary to maintain architectural integrity.
Clearly communicate trade‑offs in architecture and engineering approaches; adapt processes to project and team needs.
Contribute to the Architecture Community of Practice, sharing knowledge and presenting at internal events to foster alignment and growth across teams.
Technical Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in a technology‑related field or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of hands‑on experience as a technical lead developing, deploying, and maintaining scalable, cloud‑native software with event‑driven systems using agile CI/CD DevOps and delivery processes.
Proven expertise in cloud platforms, with hands‑on experience in AWS (preferred), Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP) with the ability to select and implement cloud services across compute, storage, database, and analytics based on specific use cases.
Expertise with Single Page Web Apps built on React, JavaScript, Node.js, Webpack, and Next.js stack.
In‑depth understanding of cloud security threat models, compliance requirements, and platform‑native security capabilities.
Experience conducting technology evaluations, scoring, and selecting tools or vendors aligned to business and architectural goals.
Deep knowledge of integration patterns across cloud, SaaS, and PaaS platforms.
Strong capabilities in data architecture, including analytics pipelines, visualization frameworks, and scalable data solutions.
Comfortable working within Agile delivery frameworks, promoting continuous collaboration between architecture and engineering teams.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to work independently with minimal direction as a self‑starter with strong initiative, and ability to manage and execute workload to deliver high‑quality results.
Good hands‑on experience with Spring and related frameworks; practical experience with containerization, container orchestrators such as Kubernetes building RESTful APIs using JAX‑R‑S and JSON.
Experience testing JavaScript applications from unit to end‑to‑end.
Experience with CDNs, caching, security, routing rules, IaC, and proxy servers.
Experience with application observability, system‑level design, performance in high volume transaction systems.
Technical Nice‑to‑haves
Prior experience in high volume web retail or e‑Commerce domains.

Compensation And Benefits Package The typical hiring range for this position is $136,200 – $178,700 annually. The base pay offered is based on market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, experience, and internal equity.
