Senior Project Manager – Stantec Buildings
Join Stantec’s Buildings team as a Senior Project Manager and help design buildings that matter.
Your Opportunity As Senior Project Manager you are accountable for the overall successful execution and delivery of projects to both clients and Stantec. You represent Stantec, lead communications, mentor project managers, and manage complex projects with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
Drive the project work, set priorities, procedures, scope, and schedule; coordinate team assignments and secure resource commitments.
Manage projects through all lifecycle stages: Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring & Control, and Closure.
Implement Stantec processes and facilitate kick‑off meetings to define objectives, scope, design, and schedule.
Develop detailed work plans, identify precursors, track data, and maintain proper documentation.
Mentor and support the project team to meet client objectives and profitability goals.
Maintain contractual, business, and financial records; keep stakeholders informed of financial status.
Identify QA/QC requirements and schedule technical reviews.
Manage client expectations, participate in client meetings, and notify scope changes with estimates and approvals.
Participate in cross‑selling Stantec services and pursue new project opportunities.
Invest in professional growth and develop purpose‑built tools and templates to improve quality and efficiency.
Deliver timely solutions, identify risks, and propose decisions that best serve the organization.
Proactively add expanded services to clients, notify Stantec, and grow repeat business through trusted delivery.
Manage a portfolio with revenue target of $1+ million annually.
Capabilities and Credentials
Comprehensive knowledge of engineering practices in own discipline and basic knowledge of other disciplines.
Advanced knowledge of design and construction concepts, including AIA, CSI, and international contracts.
Strong communication skills—clear, concise, professional written, oral, listening, and presentation.
Independent work with effective delegation to Stantec staff and partners.
Excellent organizational and time‑management skills; multitask, punctual, dependable.
Positive morale builder, fostering collaboration and employee engagement.
Positive, self‑motivated, adaptable, and flexible attitude.
Qualifications
Accredited engineering degree or equivalent experience required.
7+ years of project management experience in a related field.
Formal project management training (e.g., PSMJ, PM Bootcamp, etc.).
Compensation Locations in CO, HI, IL, MD & various CA, NJ – $117,800 to $176,800 annually.
