Job Title
Embedded System Test Engineer
Duration 12 Months with possible extension
Work Shift M – F (2nd shift)
Pay Range $40 - $45.25/hr. on W2
Top Required Skills
Strong software skills (C#, .NET framework, Java, C/C++, Visual Basic, Perl, Python, Power Shell, Scripting, Windows automation, etc.) for programming and debugging test codes.
Experience working with Perforce, GIT, or other source control SW.
Hands‑on debugging/triaging experience using Android debugging tools and/or JTAG Lauterbach/Trace32.
Develop and execute system‑level tests for Auto Premium modules on custom test hardware.
Coordinate and drive debugging of hardware and software failures to identify solutions to test failures.
Execute qualification testing with contract manufacturers; track status, debug qualification failures, generate daily summaries and final reports.
Experience characterizing CPU, GPU, Memory, Multimedia, Audio, Thermal, and Power performance of SoC/module.
Strong understanding of software automation and build; Android (Auto) architecture; ARM/x86 architecture.
Develop automatic reports, dashboards, and charts for key stakeholders.
Capture and document learnings; provide regular updates to key stakeholders during project execution.
Analyze specifications, create test plans, and execute tests.
Thorough knowledge of Android Architecture, Boot process, Kernel, Core BSP, and Android performance.
Basic lab instrumentation: power supplies, multimeter, oscilloscope.
Basic knowledge of USB protocol, CPU, DSP, GPU, DDR is a plus.
Minimum Qualifications
Overall, 2 years’ experience in system‑level test case development, driving resolution for failures with cross‑functional teams, performance characterization, and software automation for complex SoC’s/modules.
Education
Bachelor's in computer science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and communication engineering.
