$111,589.14 - $122,748.06
Contract:
12-18 month training contract (depending on certifications)
Incentives
Annual scaled salary increases based on merit, up to $156,224
15,000 sign‑on bonus (must complete training and check‑ride)
40,000 retention bonus (6‑month waiting period, 3‑year program)
Up to $5,000 in relocation assistance
The Pilot in Command (PIC) is designated as the PIC for a flight or series of flights in accordance with FAR Part 135. The PIC is responsible for the safe conduct of flights assigned, holds final authority in the operation of the aircraft, and exercises operational control at the Tier 2 level as described in Chapter 5 of the General Operations Manual. The PIC supervises any other crew member during flight as required and must meet minimum qualifications specified by FAA Part 135.243(b).
Pilot schedules rotate 7 days on followed by 7 days off. While on duty, pilots serve a 12‑hour shift (maximum 14 hours under Part 135) at the base hangar to meet a 30‑minute launch after initial notification of a trip. Assignments are scheduled a month in advance by the Base Lead Pilot to allow sufficient rest preparation.
Minimum Required Qualifications
Residency in or willingness to relocate to San Antonio, TX
Hold or be able to attain BE‑200PL21 and C‑90 PIC qualification
Single‑pilot IFR experience preferred
Previous medevac and/or cargo experience preferred
Hold or be eligible for an unrestricted FAA ATP certificate
2,500 airplane total time hours
500 airplane multi‑engine land hours
1,000 PIC airplane hours
100 hours in type
Hold or be able to attain a First‑Class Medical Certificate
Maintain First‑Class privileges
Valid U.S. passport
Preferred Education
High school diploma or GED equivalent
Responsibilities
Comply with duties and responsibilities contained in AirMed International general operating manual
Ensure the aircraft is mission‑ready in coordination with AirMed's global operations center
Comply with applicable FARs and OpSpecs
Disseminate all pertinent flight‑operations information through the operational control structure
Act professionally in all environments
Attend required meetings, training, and check‑flights outside of normal duty as needed
Perform additional duties as assigned by Director of Operations or Chief Pilot
Working Conditions
Work in outside weather conditions
Work day, night, and overnight shifts as assigned
De‑ice the plane, assist with towing and maneuvering, prep the plane for flight
Travel required for training events or maintenance assignments
Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb, bend, balance, sit, crouch, kneel, or crawl unassisted for extended periods
Transport to and from work unassisted
Assist with loading patients, lift and move up to 150 lbs with assistance
Meet vision requirements: close, distant, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment
