AbbVie is seeking a field‑based Specialty Representative in psychiatry based in Bismarck, ND. The candidate must live within a reasonable distance of the primary city and will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.

Responsibilities
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, and marketing objectives to meet or exceed goals.
Create pre‑call plans and execute post‑call evaluations to continuously improve sales performance.
Effectively handle objections, misunderstandings, and concerns, consistently gaining logical and reasonable calls to action to close on every sales call.
Proactively serve customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win‑win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
Develop and execute a call plan that meets set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximise access and sales opportunities.
Continuously build understanding of customer needs, territory market landscape, competitors, market segments, accounts, disease, product, clinical and sales expertise, and share this market intelligence with the in‑field team, brand team, and sales manager to achieve alignment.
Differentiate AbbVie’s value proposition and identify, develop, and maintain disease‑state experts and speakers/advocates to maximise brand performance.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business‑related field preferred; equivalent industry experience acceptable.
At least five (5) years of experience in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry with at least three (3) years in sales; high school diploma/GED required.
In‑depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; recognised as an expert resource by stakeholders.
Strong business acumen, proficiency with business tools, and strategic and critical thinking capabilities.
Proactive identification of customer style/behaviour and quick adaptation to selling approaches.
Ability to influence others and build collaborative partnerships with district colleagues and matrix teams.
Leadership experience at district, region, or organisational level is desirable.
Valid driver’s licence and ability to meet safe driving requirements; personal auto or company vehicle acceptable.
English language proficiency, verbal and written.
Must satisfy all applicable Health Care Industry Representative (HCIR) credentialing requirements; responsible for ongoing compliance.
Additional Information
Compensation: Base pay range provided is the range of possible pay; final compensation depends on geography and other factors.
Benefits: Comprehensive package including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance, and 401(k).
Eligible for short‑term incentive programmes.
