Associate Director of Biostatistics (Remote from Illinois)
This pivotal leadership role guides a team of biostatisticians in designing, analyzing, and interpreting clinical studies within the oncology domain. You will drive strategic biostatistical decisions, mentor and develop team members, and collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to deliver meaningful clinical insights. The role supports the adoption of novel statistical approaches, study design innovation, and high standards of data integrity. This position is ideal for a technically strong, collaborative leader passionate about transforming patient care. Accountabilities
Lead and mentor a team of biostatisticians, overseeing deliverables, growth, and professional development. Direct biostatistical contributions to oncology clinical validation projects, ensuring scientific rigor and actionable insights. Develop and implement novel statistical methods and simulation approaches to support innovative study designs. Produce, review, and standardize high‑quality documentation for internal and external stakeholders. Identify risks, communicate concerns, and propose solutions within cross‑functional project teams. Manage collaborations with CROs, including contracts, deliverables, and performance oversight. Continuously improve team efficiency and effectiveness through process enhancements and innovative techniques. Requirements
Advanced degree (Ph.D. preferred) in Biostatistics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field. 7+ years of experience in clinical trial biostatistics, preferably within oncology. Strong expertise in survival analysis, censoring, and other advanced statistical techniques. Experience in study design innovation, power calculations, and simulation approaches. Proven track record in mentoring and developing junior staff. Excellent communication skills to clearly convey complex statistical concepts to technical and non‑technical audiences. Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across cross‑functional teams and foster a high‑performing, inclusive environment. Familiarity with NGS, ctDNA, and molecular oncology preferred.
