Location & Schedule Boston, MA Part‑time – 24 hours per week

Position Summary As a BMC Radiologic Technologist, you will perform vital X‑ray imaging for trauma, inpatient, and outpatient patients. You will work collaboratively with the Radiology Team and use state‑of‑the‑art technology to help diagnose and treat patients.

Job Responsibilities

Diagnostic Imaging • Perform studies in a timely manner, using proper positioning and technique, and striving for the lowest dose possible. • Set up equipment, provide quality radiographs, and perform other duties as requested by the X‑ray Lead, Supervisor, Manager, and Radiology Director. • Perform exams on patients of all ages in all diagnostic radiology areas as needed. • Ensure best turnaround time for ordered exams to reduce delays in care.

Patient Care and Safety • Prepare patients for exams, ensuring safety, comfort, and modesty at all times. • Always check patient identifiers to validate correct patient name, DOB, MRN, and exam details. • Monitor each patient’s condition during exams and take appropriate action when assistance is needed. • Follow established infection control and safety procedures and use the AIDET communication framework.

Administrative • Document exams properly in the Radiology Information System and PACS. • Maintain professionalism in interactions and conduct proper phone etiquette with all staff, coworkers, visitors, and patients. • Maintain licensure, certifications, CEUs, and annual mandatory compliances.

Job Requirements

Current or the ability to obtain one of the following licenses/certifications prior to start date:

Massachusetts Radiologic Technologist License and ARRT Certification and Registration

Temporary Massachusetts Rad Tech License (must pass the national ARRT registry exam within one year and then apply for and receive permanent Massachusetts licensure within the year)

Current BLS/CPR Certification, or the ability to obtain one prior to start date

Completion of two years post‑high school training in an approved school of radiologic technology

Knowledge of the principles and procedures of diagnostic radiology practices and the operation of radiologic equipment

Preferred Qualifications and Role Expectations

One year of radiologic technology work experience in a hospital preferred

Maintain all Continuing Education Units

Excellent communication skills and initiative

About the Department The Diagnostic Radiology department at BMC is a full service, academic medical imaging department for adult and pediatric patients. We perform over 120,000 exams a year, delivering exceptional care through state‑licensed, ARRT‑certified technologists.

Compensation Range $29.95 – $39.52 per hour. This range is an estimate based on minimum qualifications; we consider education, experience, licensure, and total compensation including benefits.
