The Procurement Manager, under the direction of the Director of Procurement, will act as a point of contact between vendors and firm stakeholders. The manager collaborates with users on requests and requirements to assess needs and determine the best route to maximize value. The role identifies, fosters, and facilitates process improvements to establish best practices, ensuring favorable contract terms, streamlined processes, and attorney satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Liaises with key firm stakeholders to determine product and service needs

Reviews current vendors and services to analyze if they meet current company needs & goals

Researches and establishes relationships with new vendors when necessary

Negotiates with vendors to secure advantageous prices, terms, timelines, flexibility & security

Coordinates with the legal review team on contract language

Analyzes invoices to ensure accuracy of goods delivered

Accurately tracks and reports key functional metrics to the senior procurement manager

Assists in the preparation, review and analysis of the forecast, budget and variances

Resolves vendor issues quickly and efficiently

Manages the completion of all routine procurement activities including approving purchase orders and invoice reconciliation

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Accurately tracks and reports key functional metrics

Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Well‑developed negotiation techniques and communication skills

Ability to effectively manage multiple contracts, assignments and priorities

Skill in analyzing issues and problems systematically, gathering broad and balanced input, drawing sound conclusions, and translating them into timely decisions and actions

Advanced PC skills; proficiency in collaboration applications (SharePoint preferred), Excel, Electronic Resource Management tools and Visio preferred

Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to provide service and work effectively with diverse groups of people at various levels within the organization

Ability to analyze data from tables and figures and recognize connections

Flexible to work long hours as demanded by projects

Education and/or Experience

B.A. or B.S. degree in finance, law or any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position. JD or MBA a plus

In‑depth knowledge of preparing and reviewing contracts, invoicing, and negotiation terms

Extensive experience working in a procurement department in a related field

Medium to large law firm experience is highly desirable

Compensation is dependent on several factors, such as position, location, education, training, and/or experience. Hiring Salary Range $135,000.00 - $155,000.00
