Pilot - Maintenance Test Pilot (AH-64, UH-60, or UH-75 with Security Clearance) Position: M1 is seeking a Maintenance Test Pilot with experience flying AH-64, UH-60, or UH-75. The pilot will conduct test flights, perform weight and balance calculations, and oversee aircraft airworthiness to support Army and Air Force operations.

Responsibilities

Perform pre‑flight, in‑flight and post‑flight procedures in accordance with Company, Army or Air Force directives.

Conduct operational ground checks, taxi checks, hover checks, functional check flights, and confirmation check flights on rotary‑wing aircraft undergoing maintenance.

Determine airworthiness of aircraft prior to release by using Army/ Air Force technical publications and company procedures.

Perform troubleshooting procedures on the ground and in flight, making recommendations to ground personnel.

Conduct recovery and ferry flights as required.

Instruct maintenance personnel on ground run‑up and taxi operations, preparing employees for certification.

Maintain proficiency in basic flight maneuvers, emergency procedures, and instrument flying in line with Army / Air Force technical publications.

Brief operational and emergency procedures to flight crew and non‑crew members.

Participate in instrument flight simulator training and profile flights (including NVG, PNVS, and tactics) as required.

Operate motor vehicles and perform work required by the job assignment.

Maintain accurate records in the Integrated Maintenance Data System (IMDS) and meet proficiency within 90 days when assigned to the Air Force Project.

Qualifications

Valid FAA Commercial Pilot certificate with rotorcraft and instrument ratings for the aircraft class being offered.

Valid FAA Instrument rating in the designated aircraft class for the job.

Minimum 1,000 hours P/O in the specific aircraft class; for Air Force Project: 1,500 hours P/O with 500 hours in helicopters, at least 250 hours in UH-1H or Bell 205.

Completion of a proficiency check (U.S. Army UH-1H Maintenance Test Pilot Course or FAA Test Flight Program) in the applicable aircraft.

High school diploma or equivalent (GED). AMOC Phase II graduation required for OH-58D, CH-47, AH-64, or UH-60 before assuming duties.

Valid FAA or military Class II Medical Certificate; annual flight physicals required.

Proficiency in mathematical calculations for weight & balance, performance data, and rate/ratio/pointer computations.

Strong mechanical aptitude and ability to troubleshoot aircraft systems.

Valid state driver’s license, government driver’s license, or commercial driver’s license (CDL) with hazardous material endorsement when required.

Physical & Security Requirements

Physically able to perform demands of the classification.

Valid government security clearance at the required level.
