Description As a Senior Structural Engineer who thrives on solving complex challenges, you will lead meaningful projects, mentor junior engineers, and grow your expertise in an environment that trusts your judgment and encourages innovation.

Primary Responsibilities

Develop structural calculations and produce engineering drawings for Design-Bid-Build and Design-Build bridge and transportation projects.

Perform and direct engineering alternatives investigations through data collection, calculations, and evaluation of alternate solutions.

Prepare written technical reports.

Support construction phase, including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, and problem solving.

Train and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science from an ABET‑accredited university in Civil or Structural Engineering.

Registered Professional Engineer and/or Structural Engineer.

10+ years post‑registration structural engineering experience.

15+ years of relevant bridge design and plans production experience.

Experience with bridge design software such as FB Multi-Pier, Leap Bridge Concrete, Smartbridge, LARSA, CSI, STAAD, MDX, Shoring Suite, Atlas, and FDOT MathCAD worksheets.

Proficiency in Microstation, GEOPAK, OpenBridge Modeler, AutoCAD or other CADD platforms.

Ability to do 3‑D modeling in OpenBridge Modeler is a plus.

Familiarity with AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications.

Ability to guide junior staff and participate in design of multi‑discipline bridge projects.

Construction specialty engineering, post‑tensioning, and straddle bend design experience are pluses.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

Excellent communication skills and strong sense of urgency.

Valid driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree in Civil/Structural Engineering.

PE and/or SE certification in Florida or ability to obtain Florida Registration.

Familiarity with FDOT Structures Manual and FDOT Construction Specifications.
