Job Purpose and Overview The Maintenance Planner/Scheduler will plan and schedule maintenance activities using the COGZ CMMS in Denver. The role anticipates and eliminates delays by coordinating resources, parts, materials, and equipment access. The planner supports EHS procedures and leads plant safety culture initiatives through scheduling.
What Does It Take to be a Maintenance Planner & Scheduler?
High School Diploma or GED (required)
Minimum 5 years of maintenance scheduler experience
Strong technical understanding and problem‑solving skills
Capacity to coordinate multidisciplinary work
Strong interpersonal skills; effective communication across all levels
Proficiency in CMMS systems, preferably SAP
Ability to read standard blueprints, machine, and process drawings (P&ID, PFD, Isometrics)
What Will You Do at Dawn Foods?
Using the CMMS, prepare weekly & daily work schedules in collaboration with production leaders, schedulers, and maintenance staff.
Obtain information for materials and equipment, including lead times, quotes, and orders; coordinate and communicate details to optimize plan execution.
Perform all duties in accordance with food safety and quality guidelines: HACCP, GMP, QA policies, sanitation, and pest control.
Review work order feedback to improve future planning.
Develop or modify preventive maintenance programs based on OEM recommendations, root‑cause analysis, and team learnings.
Serve as the CMMS super user, training others.
Create and track KPIs by running reports from the CMMS.
Own the asset hierarchy by identifying all assets and their child assets in the CMMS.
Manage work order backlog, handling both long‑ and short‑term planning.
Assist the Maintenance Manager in optimizing preventive maintenance for all plant areas.
Assist in analyzing costs and recommending corrective actions to reduce maintenance costs; identify & implement cost‑saving ideas.
Maintain documentation: work orders, requisitions, activity reports, daily log book.
Other duties as assigned.
Physical Demands & Work Environment
Stand, walk, use hands to grasp, move, utilize objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear regularly.
Frequent climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling; occasional sensory perception for quality measurement.
Regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds; frequently lift or move 50 pounds.
Required vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, focus.
Temperature fluctuations (colder in winter, warmer in summer).
Work around heavy machinery – hearing protection required in production area.
