JOB SUMMARY
The Chief Medical Officer (CMO) will provide leadership to hospital and medical staff in the effective delivery of health services to patients, their family members, and the community, ensuring that resources are utilized efficiently, and that patient experience and quality are measured successfully and continuously improved. The CMO will be responsible for establishing professional services that comply successfully with all state, federal, and Joint Commission regulations.
The CMO will provide the hospital and medical staff with overall administrative assistance and coordination relating to the quality of medical care. As a member of the Executive team, the CMO will act as a liaison to the officers and members of the medical staff and will have the direct administrative responsibility for hospital based medical services and individual physicians. The CMO will create an environment among physicians and other important elements where the successful execution of the AdventHealth Purpose, Vision and Mission is continually demonstrated.

Multi Health System Integration and Collaboration: Provide strategic direction to joint venture and affiliated partners as a member of the Executive Triad Council and CMO Council.
Serve in Executive Advisory Capacity: Serves as a voting member of the following, but not limited to, committees:
Administrative Executive Committee
Credentials Committee
Centralized Performance Improvement Committee
Centralized Performance Improvement Leadership Committee
Quality Improvement Committee
Utilization Review Committee
Physician Well Being Committee
Continuing Medical Education Committee
AdventHealth: Corporate Care Progression Committee
Serves as ex-officio, but non-voting member of all other medical staff committees, including, but not limited to the following committees:
Medical Executive
Surgery Department
OB/GYN Department
Medicine Department
Psychiatry Department
Cardiovascular Department
Anesthesia Department
Pharmacy and Therapeutics Department
Leads Operational Functions: Sets direction, supervises and coordinates the activities of the following management positions and functions:
Case Management
Care Navigation
Clinical Pertinence
Continued Performance Improvement
Utilization Review Committee
Medical Staff Services
Oversees Medical Quality: Establishes medical quality standards and goals. Monitors the quality performance of:
Anesthesia Medical Director
CVCCU Medical Director
Emergency Medical Director
Hospitalist Medical Director
Intensivist Medical Director
Pathology Medical Director
Radiology Medical Director
Wound Care Medical Director
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
MD or DO degree
At least ten years of active medical practice experience
Board certified in an approved clinical specialty required while in clinical practice.
Previous medical management experience highly desirable

Experience on Medical Executive Committee
Experience in Clinic Practice Management
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED
Active Texas medical licensure
BLS
Board Certification by ABMS recognized Board
