About the Position MSTMA is located on the iconic Roosevelt High School campus in Boyle Heights and serves 530 students with state‑of‑the‑art athletics, laboratories and teachers. The program offers an interdisciplinary, socially‑justified STEM curriculum infused with Humanities courses that foster cultural awareness and social‑emotional skills.
Principal Role and Responsibilities
Build a culture of learning and growth, overseeing classroom instruction and school operations.
Engage families, community and partners to support all students.
Own the growth and development of adults in the school community.
Manage a year‑round school calendar and meet all obligations defined in the LAUSD Leadership Framework.
Collaborate with the Partnership’s instructional support teams in literacy, math instruction, budgeting and teacher recruitment.
Support the community‑based, anti‑racist school culture and promote equity, diversity and inclusion.

LaUSD Minimum Requirements
At least 8 years of full‑time public school certified service, including:
Minimum 3 years as a K‑12 public school teacher.
Minimum 2 years at a secondary school.
Two years in an administrative or supervisory position with a credential (e.g., assistant principal).
Valid California Administrative Services Credential.
Valid California teaching credential requiring a Bachelor’s degree and a professional preparation program.
Master’s degree from an accredited college or university.
Multicultural coursework (complete one year after hire).
District Master Plan requirements (complete one year after hire).
Compensation
Base salary 44G – E Basis: $137,393 – $171,333 (234 paid days).
Partnership supplement for year‑round calendar (261 paid days).
Total first‑year salary range $153,246 – $191,103.
Possible one‑time bonus for experience or performance.
